Super DragonBall Z (JP PS2) Delayed
VegettoEX @ 9:19 pm EST -- I'm getting extremely sick of reporting video game delays, especially ones that I'm so terribly looking forward to. Super DragonBall Z (also incorrectly known as Chou DragonBall Z) for the Japanese PS2 has been pushed back to June 29th. It was previously scheduled for release on April 13th.
The game can still be found in Japanese arcades until then (and most likely after, for a little while).

And geeze, Gamestop's listing of the 2-in-1 USA GBA cart of Buu's Fury + Transformation has a date of the 27th of this month (as opposed to the 21st, last week).

US Advance Adventure (US GBA) Delayed AGAIN...?!?
VegettoEX @ 10:28 am EST -- It would seem so. A listing doesn't exist on Amazon, and Gamestop's listing has been updated to a release date of June 13th. It was previously listed for an April 3rd/4th release date... and that was after being pushed back a month even before that.

This poor game just can't see the light of day in the US. It's not like there's not already a fully-completed English translation in other countries, or anything!

DB & DBZ Movie "Dragon Box" Delayed
VegettoEX @ 12:40 pm EST -- The listings for the upcoming DB & DBZ Movie "Dragon Box" in Japan have changed! I know I haven't gotten any e-mails from Amazon about the date change, but CDJapan has an updated release date of April 14th for the DVD boxset. There is also a notice up on the official Toei site confirming the date and apologizing to customers.

Basically, there's a three-week delay. Shucks!

So anyway, if you're in NYC this evening to see the movie, say hello. I'll be this loser.

17 March 2006

Dimps DBZ3 Website Update, Again!
VegettoEX @ 8:05 pm EST -- It took 11 months to get the first real update on the site in quite some time, and now they've suddenly done it again! Dimps updated the official DragonBall Z 3 website... and... there's still absolutely nothing of any interest. Not even a showcase of the extra outfits. Aiya.

Those two extra navigation buttons are working now, though. One takes you to the last update's page, and the other takes you to this update's page. La-di-freakin'-da.

16 March 2006

OK, Fine... We'll Mention It...
VegettoEX @ 9:46 pm EST -- I've been purposefully avoiding mentioning it on the main page, because I have a huge problem with posting news that exclusively relates to a dub product and excludes fans of the original Japanese version.

Yes, DBZ movie 12 is playing in select theaters. Yes, more theaters have been listed. Yes, we're heading up to NYC to check it out this weekend. Saturday night, to be exact.

Yes, I'll be the nerd playing the original Japanese audio track through his iPod while watching it on the big screen.

12 March 2006

Podcast Episode #0017
VegettoEX @ 12:00 am EST -- Episode #0017 of the podcast is available for download! Prepare yourself for VegettoEX's performance of all things DBZ, including dialogue, music, and even sound effects. Could there be any more of a fanboy episode describing all things good & bad about all 13 DBZ movies? We think not! Check it out!

11 March 2006

McDonald's in Japan!
VegettoEX @ 9:21 pm EST -- Over in Japan, McDonald's is giving away DBZ pencil boards and posters in their Happy Meals on certain days. Amazing. Simply amazing. Thanks to Tanooki Kuribo for the link.

Dimps DBZ3 Website Update
VegettoEX @ 1:44 pm EST -- After 11 months of absolutely nothing, Dimps updated the official DragonBall Z 3 website.

And there's absolutely nothing of any interest. Drats.

IGN Shin Budokai Review
VegettoEX @ 10:12 pm EST -- The first mainstream review of Shin Budokai for the PSP seems to come from the interesting folks over at IGN. Read the full review here.

You'll be able to pick the game up in stores tomorrow (if they didn't already put them out today). The JP version is due out on April 20th.

And remember, kids. Bu. Dô. Kai. It ain't "bootie-kye".

05 March 2006

Podcast Episode #0016
VegettoEX @ 7:35 pm EST -- Episode #0016 of the podcast is available for download! The entire history and storyline of Neko Majin, combined with a ton of news, a new segment... and... free prizes?!? What is this new development?!? Check it out!

How To Determine Your Budokai 3: Greatest Hits Version
VegettoEX @ 10:00 am EST -- Our forum member Akira has come up with a pretty interesting observation regarding the mishap with the "Greatest Hits" version of Budokai 3 in North America.

In case you've been sleeping under a pebble the last couple months, Atari re-released Budokai 3 under the "Greatest Hits" label with a few extras from the JP version of the game (including the extra costumes and Japanese voices). Well, their first pressing was messed up, and they accidentally shipped the original 2004 version (with NO extras) in the new packaging. Despite corrected versions making their way to store shelves, there's still a possibility that you might get the wrong version.

How can you tell, possibly? The type of shrink-wrap used on it. For more information, read the respective post on our forum! I checked my local Best Buy today, and the theory indeed seems to make sense.

Shin Budokai Official Website
VegettoEX @ 7:41 am EST -- The official website for Shin Budokai has been launched, and has a bunch of neat stuff. It's pretty slow-loading, like any other typical Flash-heavy Japanese website ^_~.

03 March 2006

DBGT "Perfect File" Books Reprints
VegettoEX @ 11:04 am EST -- Julian's going to bed, and I'm home sick again, so I guess I'll go ahead and update with it :P.

Shueisha's release schedule shows reprints of the two DBGT "Perfect File" books (essentially smaller-sized daizenshuu dedicated to the DBGT series) with a release date of April 4th. Other than being described as "reprints," we really don't know anything else about them... though it's safe to assume there won't be a whole lot new to them, if anything at all.

This at least gives them a reason not to release any additional new anime guides a la Tenka-ichi Densetsu (DB) and Son Gokû Densetsu (DBZ). The covers for all of these books can be seen over on our "Covers" page.

New Japanese DBZ CD Sets Images + New R2 DVDs
VegettoEX @ 4:30 pm EST -- I've created a thread over on our forum with pictures and scans of the two new CD sets that just came out in Japan about a week ago. Very neat stuff.

Yesterday, Japan saw its release of the next three volumes of DBZ on DVD. These are individual disc releases of what was originally released on the two DBZ "Dragon Box" sets beginning back in 2003.
