Transformation Screenies + "Fansub Dialogue" Page
VegettoEX @ 4:05 pm EDT -- Right on the tail of yesterday's update, it seems that Atari has gone ahead and put up a full information page for the first Transformation game. Sure enough, they're even admitting it's Legacy of Goku 4... look at the URL to the page :P. The game seems to be taking the series into a new direction, almost looking like Advance Adventure... we'll just have to wait and see! The game is due out in the US 19 July 2005.

And in content news, we have "Rumor Guide" addition! Check out the new "Fansub Dialogue" page, in which we take a close look at some of the more infamous examples of dialogue fans hold so close to their hearts from ye' olden fansub days... and how disgustingly inaccurate some of it is. There's even some audio files to listen to, for yourselves! Let us know what you think of it.

I'd like to do a contest pretty soon. I've got DVDs and (gasp!) video games to give away! Geeze... news at the drop of a hat, insane content, and free video games...? Why would you even need to go anywhere else? :P

Transformation 2 For GBA
VegettoEX @ 11:40 am EDT -- We meant to post this two days ago, but we've just been too busy ^^;;. As our forum member Kodoshin has pointed out, Gamestop's systems now have a listing for a Transformation 2 on the GameBoy Advance, with a date set of November 15th (right around the same time that Sparking! / Budokai Tenkaichi is due out). This will be the fifth game in the Legacy of Goku series of action/adventure/RPGs (which, as we all know by now, randomly stopped using the LoG main title after the second game :P).

The first Transformation game (Legacy of Goku 4), which will span the beginning of DBGT through the Bebi arc, will be released on 19 July 2005.

Look for some new content in the coming days. Getting to work, right now :D.

And on a random note, our updates have been a little slow due to Otakon video madness ^_~. Luckily, the deadline was just extended, so while we could have finished this weekend, we have a good amount of breathing room to tweak. In a shocking twist, there will be DBZ involved in this video... >.>

DBGT "Dragon Box" DVD Set Delayed
Julian @ 10:05 pm EDT -- If you've been keeping track, you might have noticed that the release date for the Japanese DragonBall GT "Dragon Box" DVD Boxed Set is fast approaching, without so much as a "GT DVD Set Release coming up real soon" update. Actually, there's good reason for this (apart from final exams and general sloth). You see... it's been delayed. As pointed out to us by forum-member kenisu3000, courtesy of the official Japanese "Dragon Box" website:

We are truly thankful for receiving the greatest amount of preorders out of the series. We give our gratitude to each and every one of you who reserved it. At present, the production operation is in full swing, but because the final tally of preorders was twice that of the 'Dragon Box' series up through last year, far exceeding our prior assumptions, it became incredibly difficult for us to deliver the product to every valued customer who ordered, by the release date we originally gave of 25 May.

We are terribly sorry to make all of you keep waiting, but in order to deliver the product in a better condition, we are changing the release date to 15 June. We are really, terribly sorry, but please, do try to understand.

Shueisha / Fuji TV / Toei Animation
Pony Canyon

Traditional Japanese "we are such piles of crap" humility aside, the main gist is thus: they couldn't meet demand for all of the preorders, so they just chose to delay it rather than make some of the pre-orderers wait, or rush an inferior product out the door. So if you're getting antsy about your shiny new DBGT "Dragon Box"... good things Japanese DVDs come to those who wait. :-P

Budokai Tenkaichi = Sparking!
VegettoEX @ 5:32 pm EDT -- Ignore anything you read elsewhere — the game being released in the US by Atari under the name Budokai Tenkaichi is indeed the game Sparking!, being developed by Japan by Spike for Bandai. Just posted today, IGN has some new information (including images and movie clips!) concerning/from the game. Look for upwards of 60 characters, including all five of the Ginyu-Tokusentai.

I have a huge problem with the IGN article calling the game Budokai 4: this is incorrect. It's a brand-new game being developed by a completely different game developer (Spike vs Dimps) with a completely new game engine. I repeat, this is not Budokai 4 / DragonBall Z 4. Regardless, check out the article for some screens and videos (from the Japanese version, no less!).

For the record, the name should likely have been Tenka-ichi Budôkai, the way it is actually named within the series... not with the words the other way around.

For the fans who still don't know where the title Sparking! comes from, I highly suggest you listen to the actual 1st opening theme to DBZ...!

We've got some other gaming news, too, mostly for all you international fans. Poor little Sagas is coming out over in Europe in July (source: Cube-Europe), and you'll also be getting... *drumroll*... Advance Adventure (!!!), which is up for pre-order both on Amazon/UK and Amazon/Germany. Special thanks to our great forum-goers for their research ^_~.

Oh, the Fandumb
VegettoEX @ 5:32 pm EDT -- A certain file was brought to my attention, recently, and I had a good laugh upon checking it out. Being passed around as Dragonball AF - Opening Vid.wmv, it's nothing more than the vocal opening to DragonBall Z 3 (which you can, as you know by now, download up in the upper-right corner of this very site). However, what really had me rolling on the ground was the inclusion of what you see in the below frame:

Sure enough, it's a bad cut-out of the new logo I whipped up for our DragonBall AF April Fool's Day 2004 prank (which you can still check out in its entirety right here). Now, this video is not created by us... we're much too clever to do something so dumb ^_~. I mean, seriously... who hasn't seen the DBZ3 opening...?

We've said it before, and anyone who reads this site is generally smart enough to know it...

But there's no such thing as DragonBall AF. There's no dôjinshi, there's no script, there's no show in the plans...
