Just "Ask VegettoEX"... that's all... : /
VegettoEX @ 5:17 pm EST -- "Ask VegettoEX" is going to be our update for today. I'm desperately trying to get some work done on Doomrider, so that's taking my highest priority at the moment. Decent set of questions, so have fun with the reading. You'll even get another fun preview into a new site section!

Oh, be sure to check out the following site:
http://hometown.aol.com/acx809x/XiYouJi.html
... it's the best up-and-coming site I've seen in a good long while. It's cool that they want to expand into the more generic sections like "Akira Toriyama" and "Journey to the West" and "DB/Z/GT Summary" and "Tenka-ichi Budokai" that every other site has. Also, their forward thinking with link.com is amazing. Be sure you check it out, folks!

(Awww, they removed all the fun stuff on the right that was still taken from my site! At least all the menu images still link to me and suck at my bandwidth! Plus, I get the feeling that their "Characters" section will never be able to rival the one we've been working on for a few weeks... *grins* At this time of writing, all of the Interaction section still links to the sections, over here... including the message board and guestbook :P)

See you on the forums~

UPDATE: Aww, the poor site owner went and erased all the fun stuff that was up and stolen :P. Remember people... if you're going to rip me off, don't link to my site and then use that link to get here... it's going to show up in the link referrals :D.

"Go for it!" Update
VegettoEX @ 10:38 am EST -- Thanks to the eleventy billion people who have sent me links to the Japanese vocal version of the Budokai 2 intro theme, "Go for it!"... it's appreciated! Yes you, all THOUSANDS of you sending me links to the same file on some other site :P.

None of the files I've checked out have been very good quality, and being the dork I am, I've decided that I'll probably just buy the Japanese version, myself, and rip it :P. I actually don't like the song that much, but I've been meaning to mod my PS2, anyway... *sighs*... the dilemmas I must face... ^_~

I know we're falling into the trap of weekly updates, but it's really all we can manage right now. We'll try to have something soon!

"Ask VegettoEX" + New Song DL + Other Small Things
VegettoEX @ 2:50 pm EST -- "Ask VegettoEX" has been updated with MANY more questions than last week; this has been one of my favorites updates to the section, thus far! Some great stuff sent in by you guys. Special thanks to Steve Simmons for helping out on a question that's been submitted by quite a few of you! Be sure to check that out. You'll find out some great info about Project Doomrider and some upcoming sections to the website!

Tying in with a question in "Ask VegettoEX," you can find one new song available for download! It's actually the opening theme to Budokai 2 on the American PS2, which is apparently an instrumental of a Japanese vocal version! If anyone out there owns the European and/or Japanese version of the game, and is able to rip the opening theme... please do so. Your fellow fans would love to hear it! Stupid no-soundtracks for these games... Plus, since I'm a nice guy and there's no soundtrack to get it off of, I encoded it at 192 kbps ^^;;.

One new image has been added to the "Covers" section; the Shonen Jump release of DBZ Vol. 10 manga (English release). The March issue of the domestic Shonen Jump has already been released (it's still January.. !), so expect a scan of that soon, too.

We've cleaned up the "Rumor Guide" a little bit, adding some more info here and there (specifically to the AF and Toriyama's death rumors). We think the image to go along with the latter is quite fitting... ^_~.

Phew! My final semester of college (*yay~~*) is starting up, so expect work so slow down a little bit. I'm still plugging away at new things, so expect them... just have no idea when ^^;;.

So you on the forum and in the chat~~

In this case, "Shinron" people... not "Shenron" !
VegettoEX @ 6:06 pm EST -- After you check out the small little "Ask VegettoEX" we put up earlier today, come back and read this so we can put something in perspective.

A couple people have been "concerned" about FUNimation's changing of the name of DragonBall GT's last arc to the "Shadow Dragon" saga. Julian actually typed up something about this on the newsgroup earlier today, so I'm going to paraphrase it.

The "evil dragons" are not "___ shenron"... they are "___ shinron" -- "Xing Long," or "Star Dragons." For example, Sûshinron is Si Xing Long, or the 4-Star Dragon. Remember that Toriyama's written-out names for the Dragon Balls, themselves, are all in Chinese, with his own intended pronunciation written above in kana. The dragons that come out of the Dragon Balls are no different.

The evil version of Shenlong that comes out initially when they try to call the Dragon is called "Kokuen no Ryû" in Japanese, or "Black Smoke Dragon." "Shadow Dragon" isn't all that far off, folks. "Black smoke" would cause "shadows," would it not? (Of course, nobody can dispute the complete wackiness the names they made up for the individual Star Dragons. "Nuova Shenron"? "Eis Shenron"? Gimme a break...) I, for one, am looking forward to finally getting my grubby little hands on DBGT 59-64...

"Ask VegettoEX" Updated... Come Chat / Foruming!
VegettoEX @ 12:05 pm EST -- "Ask VegettoEX" has been updated with four regular questions and our new feature, a messgae board question. Each week, we'll link you to one of the on-going questions / discussions from our "DragonBall Question" section of our message board. You can read the answers given thus far, and possibly even contribute, yourself!

And as a reminder, our IRC channel and message board are always open to anyone and everyone! Come see us!

New sections coming soon... ? *gasp, shock, awe*

Image-y goodness, "Rumor Guide" tweaks, etc. ...
Julian @ 10:00 pm EST -- As is customary for me every month, I've scanned the latest DB kanzenban volume covers (27 and 28), which can now be found over in the (surprise-surprise) "Covers" section. And, in the "Other Artists" department for this month, we've got the first shôjo author of the bunch: Arina Tanemura, author of such works as Kamikaze Kaitô Jeanne and Full Moon o Sagashite.

Not content with just that, though, I've made a few minor changes to the "Rumors Guide," as well. There's not too much different; the main changes involve the first two rumors on the main page, as well as the addition of the name of Mr. Satan's manager (whom some believe to be Videl's mother). I've also put up the cover art for the "Fortuneteller Baba" DB saga set in the "DVD Guide." So...go look at those, too.

Now, then... content-wise, it might seem like most of what we're doing at the moment is minor... but rest assured that we've got some big things on the way (for one of 'em, just check out the newest non-functional link under the "Guides" header at left). You'll just have to wait a while to see them, is all. But rest assured... when they're ready, they'll be... uh... well, they'll be ready, that's what. Just be patient...

Rest of "Cell Games" DVDs Confirmed for 2004... ?
VegettoEX @ 12:19 am EST -- BestBuy.com is listing several of the end "Cell Games" discs as being released on 30 September 2003... which is silly, because it's 2004, now. However, they ARE the DVD releases in the database, and it IS strange to see them there...

None of this can actually be confirmed, but it's interesting information. We're supposed to be getting these discs this year, and with the "Cell Games" starter-set coming out on the 27th (box + first two "Cell Games" discs), it's a pretty good indication that we WILL be getting them soon. More info to come... ?

We're Six! New Forum! "Ask VegettoEX" ! Images! More!
VegettoEX @ 12:11 am EST -- Holy crap... it's January! Do you know what that means? Daizenshuu EX has been around for six years, now! Sure, I kinda took a full year off... but the site began as VegettoEX's Home Page in January 1998... here I am, six years later, still having the time of my life! Awesome! Big incredible thanks to Julian for helping me to keep going since the site went back up. Couldn't have done it without ya'.

To celebrate, we've got soooo many things, it almost hurts. The first thing you need to check out is our brand spankin' new message board! We've moved on from Animation Insider to our own phpBB, graciously hosted by Josh (who many will remember as my old host from back on pokeball.net). Big thanks to Josh! Everyone come sign up and have fun!

Once you're done there, head on over to this week's "Ask VegettoEX." A dozen questions (in the span of a single week!) have been answered. Really great stuff. Keep 'em coming, everyone! We try to answer as many as we can.

As you may notice over on "Ask VegettoEX"... we're premiering an entire new section, too! Many people ask me what my favorite DragonBall music videos are; well, here's my chance to answer you all, and share my suggestions with everyone! Check out the new "Guide to DragonBall Music Videos" section! Remember, it's a very biased list by nature... just because you don't see something there doesn't mean you can't like it! These are just videos we want to share with you! ^^

Finally, once you're done cruising through all that awesome new stuff, we've got the traditional images update to the "Covers" section. American tankôbon volumes galore have been scanned, along with this month's domestic Shonen Jump cover. Enjoy the craploads of new images!

In conclusion, here's what you need to check out:

Have fun, and see you on the forums / in the chat!

"Ask VegettoEX" Truly Back on Weekly Schedule!
VegettoEX @ 9:41 pm EST -- "Ask VegettoEX" really IS back on that fantastic weekly schedule! Updated with seven questions for the week, it was the easiest update to the section I've ever done! That hardly took any time at all, and I had fun doing it, at the same time. That's what Daizenshuu EX is all about for me, now... fun. I'm lovin' it!

Been hard at work on more sections that won't see the light of day for a while now, but rock in their own right. Actually, one might be done really soon... I rock.. love me... back to Jersey, tomorrow! w00t!

Oh... thanks to everyone who's sent me an e-mail about forums. I'm getting back to you all real soon... give me some time ^^;;.

Budokai Japanese Sales Figures; We Need New Forums!
VegettoEX @ 8:00 pm EST -- The Magic Box reports the first DBZ Budokai for PS2 as the number eight console game in Japan for the 2003 year, with 538,734 units sold. Cool stuff!

So, as you can probably tell, we need a new forum. I'm only hearing this second-hand, but it sounds like a bunch of 15 year olds can't get along with each other online. I guess this is what I get for trusting people I'd never heard of before. *sighs*

I'm looking for someone OVER 18 years of age that would be interested in hooking us up with a new forum. I just don't have the time or resources to do it myself, as much as I'd like to. Preferably I'd like it to be of the Invision or phpBB sort, since that is just what I'm most familiar with. At the least I'd just like one forum, but if anyone can provide a forum with multiple sub-forum breakdowns (for things like music, music videos, etc)... that would be even more fantastic.

So if you're over 18 years of age, can type properly, have the resources, and are interested in helping out your favorite 2nd-gen DBZ site... get in contact with me at VegettoEX@aol.com.

Thanks in advance! And... well... Happy New Year, of course!!
