Hugely Massive "Covers" Update
Julian @ 11:20 pm EST -- Well, even if we can't do "Ask VegettoEX" this weekend, it doesn't mean that Mike and I are slacking. In fact, I'd say I've got a nice little gift for you, over in the "Covers" section. Something to the tune of, oh... 10 brand-new images?

In other words, going home for Thanksgiving gave me the opportunity to do some major scanning for the back covers of the DB "Kanzenban" manga volumes (so much so, in fact, that I had to e-mail myself several files that wouldn't fit on my keychain drive!). Tonight, I give you the back covers for volumes 13-22. Volumes 1-12 will follow sometime later in the week, free time permitting.

And that's all from me, for tonight. But fear not, loyal website-reader people, for I, Julian, will always be there when EX can't meet the "Ask VegettoEX" deadline.

"Ask VegettoEX" Just Ain't Happening This Week
VegettoEX @ 8:35 pm EST -- I really would have liked to, but it's just not going to happen. WAY too much work to do, not to mention the fact that I've been out of the state for the last five days :P.

I know it's supposed to be a once-a-week section, but we'll have to settle for another double-length update next weekend ^^;;. We are working on some other stuff, so it's not like it's all a loss!

25 November 2003

"Taiketsu" in Both USA & Japan
VegettoEX @ 1:02 am EST -- Taiketsu will be coming out on the 28th for GameBoy Advance, according to Amazon.com. In addition to this, continuing this fantasically strange trend of DBZ games being created in America and shipped over to Japan, Banpresto will be releasing a Japanese version of Taiketsu over in the Rising Sun land in the spring of 2004 (thanks to The Magic Box for the news).

Also, Julian threw up the cover for December's "Shonen Jump" over on the "Covers" page. No DBZ anywhere on it, this month... hope that means we're getting a nice all-DBZ spread, soon!

22 November 2003

Biggest "Ask VegettoEX" Update Ever, + New DBZ AMV?!
VegettoEX @ 2:44 am EST -- To make up for last week's NO update of the greatest section of all time, "Ask VegettoEX," we've updated it with a whopping TWENTY (yes, 20!) questions for this week. It's a great read with lots of awesome questions, so be sure to check them out! You're probably gonna learn a few new things, too... I know I did.

In addition to all that, I put up a new music video... a DBZ one! Don't get all excited... it's actually more of a parody than anything else. Not to mention I edited it in a single 24 hour period. If that still sounds amusing to you, then by all means, go ahead and check out "Pretentious DBZ Action Video." If you go by the reviews I've gotten on it already, it's "OMG THE GREATEST VIDEO OF ALL TIME OMG OMG AWESOME."

It's not... clearly... but... uhh... check it out~

Sleep, now.

19 November 2003

Did you send your "Ask VegettoEX" question?
VegettoEX @ 10:28 pm EST -- I'm looking for the person who submitted a question for "Ask VegettoEX" concerning Vegeta's infamous cursing in DBZ movie 13. Your e-mail fell out of my box, and I don't seem to have saved it. I'd like to credit a name to the question, so please e-mail me ASAP ^^.

Also, if you'd like to get a question in for this week's 00ber "Ask VegettoEX" update, get it in soon! I'm emptying my mailbox, and I'm not used to seeing it without a bazillion "Ask VegettoEX" subject headers :P

And hey... there's a new DBZ music video coming... if you know the right places, you can already get it ^_~.

18 November 2003

Sorry ;_; ... no "Ask VegettoEX" this week!
VegettoEX @ 8:31 am EST -- I just couldn't get any site work done this past (Hellish) weekend... gomen!! To make up for it, we're gonna do a super-long "Ask VegettoEX" page for this coming weekend. My mailbox is absolutely FILLED with questions, so it'll be major fun answering them all ^^. I'm really looking forward to it, as it'll be a nice distraction from all this senior year crap :P. One more semester... one more semester...

Oh, yeah... the "Music Directory" is essentially done. I think we need two more images, one more song entry... and to double check all the info... and it'll be ready to go! WOW! That'll be neat.

We're so cool.

15 November 2003

Lotsa Purty New Images~
Julian @ 1:45 pm EST -- Well, I wasn't able to get my translation of "Shura-Iro no Senshi" done in time for today (a few snags on the translation; might show it to my professor), buuuut... we've got lots of new Kanzenban illustrations, instead!

Yesterday, I (inadvertently) found out that there were computers with scanners and Photoshop in the basement of the campus library, so scan I did! In the "Covers" section, we now have scans of DB Kanzenban volumes 23 and 24 (both front and back!), and in "Other Artists," we've got a brand-new (and slightly-etchi) illustration by Kenjirô Takeshita, author of Happy World!.

So, enjoy the new pics. Mike should have a new "Ask VegettoEX" ready to go tomorrow, so look out for that, too. That's it from me, for today... Ja ne~

11 November 2003

"Songs of a High Spirited Saga" Tracklisting
VegettoEX @ 12:36 am EST -- Big thanks to Chibi K for sending us the tracklisting for the "legendary" CD from the Philippines, "Songs of a High Spirited Saga." This is the CD which contains the "alternate" English recordings of "Cha-La Head-Cha-La" and "Kimi ga Hîrô" by Age of Wonder.

I've been slaving over the soon-to-premier (we promise!) "Music Directory" over the last few days. A few more images and some touch-ups, and I think it'll be ready to go! Those of you who want / need an easy way to find out which song is from which episode / movie, and what CD(s) you can find them all on... we've got your one-stop page coming soon. Much excitement!

"Ask VegettoEX" Updated, New MP3, Other Stuff~
VegettoEX @ 3:50 pm EST -- First off, "Ask VegettoEX" has been updated with a nice, round, five questions for the week. All really good stuff~! Very happy with the questions we got, this week. Thanks, everyone.

In addition to that, as Julian noted in the last update, all of the MP3 downloads are back up. In addition to this, I've added one new song... a live performance of "Don't you see!" by Zard off their "Cruising & Live" album. You can find all these over in the "Music Downloads" section. Enjoy!

The "DVD Guide" has been updated over the last few days with the announcements of the next "Cell Games" disc, as well as the next two DBGT discs.

07 November 2003

New Lyrics, Music Downloads Fixed
Julian @ 3:50 pm EST -- Well...it wasn't long after I posted yesterday's update (see below), that Mike figured out what was wrong with our music files: the server that was hosting them moved, and they weren't uploaded afterwards. But, they're now back up, so I'm pleased to announce that our "Music Downloads" are once again available.

In other news, I've completed my translation of the lyrics to "Saikyô no Fusion," the ending theme to DBZ Movie 12. Believe it or not, I've actually finished all the opening and ending themes from the series and movies! That means from now on, I'll be focusing my attention on the series insert songs, as well as some of the more popular image songs ("Hikari no Willpower" is down the road a bit, but I'll get there, eventually).

And finally, the "Music Directory" section is getting closer and closer to looking presentable, but there's still a ways to go, yet. We're working hard on it, we swear. ^_^

That's it from me, for the moment. Parents will be here soon, and I have to play tour guide for the weekend. If I'm lucky, I might get to start on "Shura-Iro no Senshi," but we'll see. Ja ne~

06 November 2003

A note on Music Downloads...
Julian @ 2:25 pm EST -- If you've been to our "Music Downloads" section recently, you might have noticed that they're not working. We're not sure how long this has been a problem, but we were only just made aware of it the other day (Mike and I already have the music, so we don't really have a reason to download it, ourselves). Mike doesn't know why they're offline either, so it might take a while before we get to the bottom of this.

We'll let you know when they're back up again. In the meantime, though...please bear with us. ^_^;

04 November 2003

New DragonBall manga artbook!
Julian @ 5:00 pm EST -- I was looking at Shueisha's "Comics News" site yesterday, when I came across something interesting: it seems that, to commemorate the Kanzenban re-release of the manga, a special artbook is going come out! That page can be found here. The book, which is to be released on 19 December, will include:

  • A guide to the DB world's "Landmarks," plus information on the series' "new charms."
  • A collection of the cover art from the Kanzenban volumes (including those which have yet to be released), as well as an interview with Akira Toriyama, himself.
  • A collection of all the "DragonBall Children" illustrations and articles that originally ran in the "DragonBall Information" packets, which came with the Kanzenban volumes. (These illustrations can be found in our "Other Artists Draw DB" section.)
So...pretty cool, huh? It's like a Daizenshuu for the new version of the manga! I'll be sure to keep you guys posted as more information becomes available, especially since I owe you for not so much as mentioning the new DBZ anime guide that came out last month. ("What DBZ anime guide," you ask? Exactly.)

See you later this week, hopefully with more lyrics. Ja~

I'm a dork.
VegettoEX @ 2:54 pm EST -- During some normal browsing, I happened across Hikaru Midorikawa's (Jinzôningen #16, Paikûhan) profile on IMBD. He played the swordsman in the anime sequence of Kill Bill (Vol. 1).

He's great-o. And cool. And that's it. Like it says...I'm a dork.

03 November 2003

"Ask VegettoEX" Updated
VegettoEX @ 10:35 pm EST -- "Ask VegettoEX" has been updated with the three questions I got that could be answered :P. Sorry there's not more than that, but it's all there is. It's like that... some weeks we'll get a ton, and some weeks we won't get much.

Sorry it's so late... got really slammed with school work this week... only one more semester after this, and I'm dooooone...

02 November 2003

Some More Lyrics...
Julian @ 1:10 pm EST -- It's Sunday...and Mike has yet to update "Ask VegettoEX." Actually, I'm not exactly sure if he's even going to, because the last time I talked to him, he was pretty swamped with work. So... to prevent you all from forming an angry mob and rioting... or something... I'll take this opportunity to distract you with more song lyrics. This time, it's "Solid State Scouter," the inserted BGM to the first DBZ TV Special, and "Gotta Find That Dragon Ball!," the theme to the 1995 Ocean Studios dub of DragonBall. All these and more can be found in our "Lyrics" section.

Anyways, that's my part for today. Here's hoping Mike does his...
