Daizenshuu EX - Updates from October 2003

[ Previous Month - September 2003 ] [ Next Month - November 2003 ]

31 October 2003

More Song Lyrics, Happy Halloween...
Julian @ 5:15 pm EST -- Well...All Hallows' Eve is upon us once again. And while some of you will be out collecting candy from strangers (and others of you will no doubt be stealing it from them, after dousing them in shaving cream), I've got a "treat" of my own to dole out: more song lyrics! Now available over in the "Lyrics" section is the ending theme to DBZ Movie 10, "Kiseki no Big Fight." Have fun with that.

Look out for some more lyrics either tomorrow or Sunday. And remember: there's no such thing as too many "bite-size" candy bars. ^_^

"Links" Section Updated
VegettoEX @ 10:13 pm EST -- Had a good day, yesterday, in terms of hits. I've noticed that the site gets the most traffic on the day we update "Ask VegettoEX." That alone tells me that people are enjoying the section... cool stuff.

So we haven't updated "Ask VegettoEX" again, but the "Links" section HAS been updated. You'll find a few sites have been removed (due to their shutting down), you'll notice one new link (to an oooold-ass site), and a new section called "Staff Favorites," where Julian and I just have a small list of some random sites that we both enjoy. Have fun!

26 October 2003

Last 2 Months' "Shonen Jump" Covers
VegettoEX @ 10:23 am EST -- I'm a moron who never put up last month's cover of "Shonen Jump," and since I got this month's issue, it only makes sense to have them both added to our "Covers" page of the "Image Gallery." All added~!

"Ask VegettoEX" Update
VegettoEX @ 12:53 am EDT -- Well we're just updating whores, aren't we? Getting this update in before the time change, whee~. Anyway, yeah... "Ask VegettoEX" has been updated for the week (a day late again... well, an hour late, technically!). Good stuff, this week... be sure to get your questions in early, for the next update. Or late.. I don't really care. I don't look at them until the weekend, anyway :P.

25 October 2003

New "Budokai 2" Screenies~
VegettoEX @ 6:48 pm EDT -- The Magic Box has updated with a whopping four pages of images from the upcoming PS2 fighting game Budokai 2. Fat Gotenks! Button-presses to do fusion! Galactic Donut! Man, I'm gonna be such a dork playing this game...

'Nother Song Translation...
Julian @ 1:44 am EDT -- Once again, I have found the time (though I don't know how, exactly) to do another song translation, and I have put it up in the "Lyrics" section. This time, it's the ending theme to DBZ Movie 13, "Ore ga Yaranakya Dare ga Yaru." It'd be more fun if we still hosted a download of it, as it's a really good song...but you'll just have to make do with the lyrics (or, even better, go out and buy DBZ Complete Song Collection 4). Still good, though.

And thus, I bid you goodnight.

24 October 2003

OMG WONDERSWAN! Like any of us *owns* one...
VegettoEX @ 11:22 am EDT -- The Magic Box has released five new screen-shots from the upcoming WonderSwan Crystal DragonBall game (which, as noted in past updates, is a remake of an old Famicom game from 1989; it was actually the third DB game to be released; more info from SuperPope here).

Chibi Goku is so damn cute, I can't stand it.

"Ask VegettoEX" Update... Starring... Both of Us~
VegettoEX @ 9:02 pm EDT -- Yep, "Ask VegettoEX" has been updated with seven new questions, answered by both Julian and myself. Good questions this week! Actually got too many to answer all at once, so you may see some of your old questions popping up next week if we need them.

New Song Lyrics, revising old ones...
Julian @ 1:45 am EDT -- Hey, everybody. I'm pleased to announce that, having had a few moments of spare time, I've gone and translated the lyrics to another song. This time it's the ending theme to DBZ Movie 11, "Dragon Power Infinity." Be sure to stop by the "Lyrics" section and check it out.

In addition to that, I'm also working on revising the other songs which are present in the section. You see, as I get better at Japanese, I find that my older translations aren't quite...up to par anymore. So, I go back and fix them up a bit. I may also add one or two more songs to the mix next week, depending on how much free time I get (most likely one of the remaining movie themes or the insert song from DBZ episode 20). So keep an eye out for that (although, like I said, it may or may not turn up).

Anyways, that's all I've got for tonight... or this morning, rather. Time for sleep~

17 October 2003

New DBZ Game for Nintendo GameCube
VegettoEX @ 8:32 pm EDT -- Thanks to Clay Reynolds for being on top of things, as always, for posting this info to the newsgroup. From NGCOnline.net...

The GC is getting a new DBZ game entitled, "Dragon Ball Z: Saiyan Smash!"

Nintendo has added this game to their official Nintendo of America games list. However there isn't any information about the game thus far. All we know is the release date is Q3 2004.

Interesting. We'll letcha know if and when more information pops-up about it. Of to class~

16 October 2003

Random Video Game Reminders
VegettoEX @ 6:03 pm EDT -- The Magic Box updated with the release date for Japan's Budokai on GameCube, which reminded me that there are a few new DB-related games coming out, soon! Here's a helpful list for you to see what's coming out, when:

  • DragonBall Z: Taiketsu (USA - GBA); 2D Fighting
    November 28th; $29.99
  • DragonBall Z: Budokai (Japan - GC); 3D Fighting
    November 28th; ¥6800
  • DragonBall Z: Budokai 2 (USA - PS2); 3D Fighting
    December 12th; $49.99

I'm not trying to advertise for the video game companies, but hey... "news" is "news" ^^. I'll at least get Budokai 2... the first one amused me quite a bit, despite the horrid dub Freeza :P

13 October 2003

New "Other Artist" Kanzenban Image
VegettoEX @ 5:29 pm EDT -- Julian's at home with a crippled internet connection, so I'm adding this image on his behalf. Check out Ken'ichi Sakura's Red Ribbon Army image over on the "Other Artists" page (this is the 11th image thus far). Very nice stuff~!

You'll also find the latest covers for the two new kanzenban volumes (21 and 22) with great pics of Freeza and SSJ Goku. Check 'em out over on the "Covers" page.

12 October 2003

"Ask VegettoEX" Starring... VegettoEX, Again!
VegettoEX @ 2:33 am EDT -- "Ask VegettoEX" has been updated this week with SEVEN (yes, 7!) questions for the week (with a few more in my inbox I just couldn't get to). See?! All it takes is for Mike to get back into the swing of things to get a few more questions sent his way ^_~.

The site will kinda be on the back-burner, for me, for a little bit as I work on my "Project: DOOMRIDER" track (as well as handle everything tech-related about the entire project). So.. uhh.. I'll be here, but not completely. Maybe I'll have some fun stuff coming, regardless... I dunno yet ^^;;

05 October 2003

"Ask VegettoEX" Update...
Julian @ 2:45 am EDT -- "Ask VegettoEX" updated. Only one question sent in. Need more for next time. Tired. Must get some sleep...

03 October 2003

DVD Guide Updated (again)...
Julian @ 4:45 pm EDT -- Mike's away for the weekend again...but never fear. I've updated the "DVD Guide" with the cover art for the DB "Commander Red" saga set. I've also been continuing my work with the "Movie Guide" and the "Music Database," just improving things here and there (like re-doing the cover art and/or reviews for several CDs, enhancing movie summaries, etc.). I had hoped to put up a section for one of the DBZ TV Specials by this weekend, but I just now realized that Mike needs to do the cover art...and he's already gone. Nevertheless, I will have an "Ask VegettoEX" update tomorrow. Well, sort of, anyway. You'll see.

On a more positive note, I'll be home a week from tomorrow, and (assuming my order follows the trend of previous Amazon Japan shipments), will have brand new Kanzenban stuff to scan for the "Covers" and "Other Artists" sections. And the best part is, I won't have to shirk my responsibilities all that much to do them! Thank you, Cristoforo Colombo.

Anyways, I'll be back tomorrow with the aformentioned "Ask VegettoEX" update. Ja ne~

01 October 2003

Movie Guide Updated...
Julian @ 9:30 pm EDT -- I had a free moment this evening, so I went and updated the "Movie Guide" with a section on DBZ Movie 8. I'm also working on revising the sections for the other movies, and plan to have something up for the two DBZ TV Specials by the end of the month. How much free time I get is a key factor in this, though, so that's subject to change without notice. Yeah, schoolwork sucks...

Well...that's it for this evening from me. I'll keep working on stuff here...might be able to get something good done for the weekend, anyways. Perhaps Mike will post something again this week, as I've told him of a few things he needs to do. Well, ja~

Corrected DBGT 9 & 10 DVD Info + Cover Art
VegettoEX @ 8:27 pm EDT -- Updated the DBGT section of the "DVD Guide" to include correct episode numbering and cover art for volumes nine and ten. According to RightStuf, volume nine will have four episodes (41-44). Interesting. The complete Super 17 saga in two discs! Whee!

Yeah. Check out last update for info on all the new music videos, too. Download. Enjoy. Stuff.
