  Daizenshuu EX - Ask VegettoEX

We all frequent message boards and online forums (such as alt.fan.dragonball), and we all contribute as much as we can. Unfortunately, we don't KNOW of all the places people post questions, so it's impossible for us to reach everyone. However, if you're reading this, you at least know where WE are, so it's possible for you to ask us directly.

What we're going for here is sort of an "Answerman" or "Ask John" (from Anime News Network and Anime Nation, respectively). We'd like you to e-mail in whatever questions you may have, so long as it somehow relates to the world of DragonBall; be it the manga, the anime, merchandise... whatever. We've been around for a few years, now, and we know the ropes... we like to think we know our stuff.

And we want to help. E-mail your questions to VegettoEX@aol.com with the subject "Ask VegettoEX." We'll try to update this section every Saturday, with at least one question straight from the fans. Thanks!

Q. Hey, I just wanted to know if you had any information on music CDs for
DragonBall GT? It's about the only great thing that I like about GT and I was
wondering what good music CDs there are. Thanks for your help. - Tony Gonzales

A. This is a VERY frequently asked question about DBGT. Unfortunately, there's no real good answer to the question. There was never any kind of "DBGT Soundtrack" released in Japan (or anywhere else, for that matter), so tracking down the music can be a pain.

For the opening and ending themes, your best bet is probably either CD singles or full albums by the artist. The CD single for the fourth ending theme is still pretty prevalent at conventions, so you should have an easy time picking that up for pretty cheap. As for the other theme songs, browse through the "CD Singles" section for a little more information.

Then, however, comes the background music. Like I said, there's never really been a GT soundtrack...so...

The next best thing is the soundtrack for the 10th Anniversary Movie ("Saikyô e no Michi"), which contains a lot of BGM that was also used in the DBGT TV series. Honestly, a lot of it should be pretty familiar, so it's a pretty good substitute.

Unfortunately (there's that word, again)...it's not all the BGM. There's a lot that everyone would like (such as the instrumental-type versions of "DAN DAN Kokoro Hikarete 'ku") that are used in the show...

But we're just shit outta luck, really... ;_;

Also, beware of the EverAnime "DragonBall GT" disc. It's actually a compilation of most of the "Dragon '98 Live" performances, plus a couple GT themes. It's a very poor bootleg, however, so stay away at all costs!

Q. Do you happen to know when KidMark's sub-license expires? I heard somewhere they maybe hold it for a lot longer... is it true? I really would like to see the first 13 episodes of DragonBall uncut. - James Machuga

A. Unfortunately, James...none of us regular fans really know. Someone somewhere at both FUNimation and KidMark knows...but they're not telling us. Rest assured, as soon as we figure out when that is, we'll post something big about it!

Q. Okay.. a while ago I was on this G/V mailing list. Someone said that they got the 10th Anniversary special saying that there where two parts to it. First, part was the one I keep hearing about all about Goku and his life. The second part was about Gohan and Videl's relationship, but when I searched the net, I couldn't find anything on the second part. So was this person just shooting the bull about the second part? - Tasukibabe17

A. Yes, they were. Stop listening to random people on the internet. They don't know what they're talking about. EVERYTHING concerning EVERY movie / TV special can be found in our "Movie Guide" here on the site. If it's not there, it doesn't exist (minus that PlayDia game footage... which REALLY needs its own section and explanation... *sigh*...).

Phew! For now, though... that's all I can answer! I've got everyone else's questions saved, so they might still pop up at a later time. That's it for now! E-mail us your questions for next week's update!
