Well...
I can sympathise with VegettoEX these days... I can understand
what he is going through with people stealing all his ideas
and stuff. And I thought, since I did meet him before (in
dalnet's #dragonballz) That I would throw my two cents into
the ring. I've seens tons of people stealing other people's
hard-worked-on images, sounds, and music. It's really just
not fair. With popular sites such as EX's or Meri's Temple
of Trunks (I'm also friends with her), people will always
try to duplicate thier popularity, whether by advertising
unfairly, joining those wierd ' GogiitaEX321's 100 best
DB sites' rings, or lastly, and probably the worst way,
by stealing what makes them so popular.
I've
often thought of ending my site as well, though my problem
isn't nearly as bad as thiers. I've had people steal wallpapers,
sounds I've editted and fixed up, and even one who stole
my layout totally and just changed the name. It really is
quite unfair. Now, I'm not saying I am perfect either. I
do take ideas from other people, and things they've worked
on. BUT I AM DIFFERENT. I ask first. I ask very polietely
in an e-mail if I can use something, then even if they don't
ask, I put thier e-mail and/or site somewhere near what
I borrowed and add a link to them in my links section as
well. That seems fair to me.
I
know, it does take longer to come up with your own ideas.
Now some of us may be lucky enough to get a really good
site someone worked long and hard on dropped into thier
lap (Like I'm dropping CT most likely to take care of my
friend Reilly's 'Vejiita-sei' he's planning to drop). But,
you should be willing to work hard for it too. Afterall,
making mp3s or designing photographic comic books is not
easy. I know. I *will* be combining Reilly and my sites,
to make one super site.
Well,
I'll keep this short to make EX's life easier. It's not
fair for people to steal other's ideas and work without
asking permission and giving credit. I'm sure he'll agree
with me on this. If you're one of those people who does
that sorta thing, please stop. Because if you keep on doing
it, all the good sites will die, and at least, if you can't
find compassion somewhere in your cold black heart (;P)
think of it this way.. Ther'll be no-one else to steal from.
That is all.
