Unfortunately, some thieves in Hong Kong decided to... well... copy the DragonBall CDs and sell them. There are two main bootleg companies that you're going to come across: SonMay (SM) and EverAnime (EA). (There's also another company, called "Smile Face," that has a bootleg of the first DBZ Complete Song Collection set.) Both put their respective logos on the back of their CDs, so that's how you can tell the difference (other than the obvious price reduction). Do they sound any different than the originals? No, of course not. They're digital copies; they sound just as great as the original. Should you buy them? Not if you can help it. Usually, the original Japanese releases come with fun extras like full color booklets, the box sets come in... boxes... and have more fun stuff. The bootleg CDs usually have no inserts, and you're lucky to get some lyrics.

This page will focus on bootlegs that are "original" CDs, and not simply copies of already existing CDs. For example, the companies throw different songs together from multiple CDs, and sell it as a new CD.

Keep in mind that there are many more bootleg CDs out there... these are just the compilation ones. There are bootleg CDs of nearly all of the Hit Song Collection CDs, the "Never Ending Story" and "Daizenshuu" sets, and the Super Butôden series of discs. Make sure you know what you're buying before you purchase.

The original Japanese title is written in blue, and underneath it in red in the English translation (where appilcable). Underneath that in the smaller font is the artist.

Notes - VegettoEX This disc wasn't even made by a bootleg company.. some dope on eBay kept making more and more copies to sell. Fortunately, he stopped, after a while...but there's no excuse for the kind of thing he pulled. The places where there are brackets next to the title are where I had to put the title in, because the individual did not put the correct one on the back of his disc. Yes, it actually says "Japanese Title" on the back of the CD he printed up. *sigh* If you're gonna make a bootleg, at least do it well... this half-assed one just adds insult to injury.

The first four tracks are the opening and (first three) ending themes to DragonBall GT, while the rest of the tracks are live from a special 1998 concert in which Hironobu Kageyama, Shin'ichi Ishihara, KÛKO, etc. (MONOLITH, collectively) performed many DragonBall songs live.
