You’re Not Alone (English version of “Hitori ja Nai”)
Dragon Ball GT English Dub Ending Theme #1 (2008-09 DVD version)
Original Japanese Lyrics:
Original Music Composer:
English Version Performance:
Shûchi Ikemori
Tetsurô Oda
Transcription: Julian Grybowski
Transcriber’s Note:
This is not an actual translation of the original Japanese lyrics, due to the constraints of making the lyrics rhyme and fit the meter. A direct translation of the Japanese song can be found here. This is also the TV-Size version, as the English version has not been released outside of the TV show.

Overall, this is quite the surprise, given that FUNimation chose to create their own theme for the dub the first time around, but the DVD sets released in 2008 and ’09 have English arrangements of the original Japanese themes. A welcome change, though no less bizarre than scrapping the original music in the first place. Purely as a matter of taste, some may prefer the male singer in the original version by DEEN, though this one isn’t half bad.
English Lyrics
I was once convinced I had no time for friends,
That all I’d ever need was me. But then I changed my mind
Because I came to find how lonely life could really be

Now, I’ve spent so much time just trying to figure out what my purpose is in life
I don’t know what to do; I try to talk to you: no answers, only silence
But I promise you don’t have to hide all the feelings you have inside

Because you’re not alone: I am here, and I want to share my dreams with you
All my life, I’ve been searching for answers, and now my purpose is with you
We live together as one
Joined by love, there is nothing to be afraid of; just have the strength to fulfill all your hopes and dreams,
And remember that I’ll be here, standing right by your side
Hey everybody, Julian here. This invisible text doesn’t have anything to do with the song itself, so as long as you’re just casually reading the lyrics on Daizenshuu EX, this doesn’t concern you. However, if you’re reading this on another site, please contact me, at jgjedi@aol.com. I put a lot of hard work into this transcription/translation, and I don’t appreciate those who would try and take my work, claiming it as their own. The internet is a big place, and lyrics like these get traded and re-posted all the time, but lest you be tempted to over-reach, be aware...I’m watching.
