Bit by Bit, I’m Falling Under Your Spell (English version of “DAN DAN Kokoro Hikarete ’ku”)
Dragon Ball GT English Dub Opening Theme (2008-09 DVD version)

English Version Performance:

Tetsurô Oda
Vic Mignogna
Transcription: Julian Grybowski
Transcriber’s Note:
This is not an actual translation of the original Japanese lyrics, due to the constraints of making the lyrics rhyme and fit the meter. A direct translation of the Japanese song can be found here. This is also the TV-Size version, as the English version has not been released outside of the TV show.

Overall, this is quite the surprise, given that FUNimation chose to create their own theme for the dub the first time around, but the DVD sets released in 2008 and ’09 have English arrangements of the original Japanese themes. A welcome change, though no less bizarre than scrapping the original music in the first place. Fans of the dub should note that Vic Mignogna, who sings this version, is also the voice of Broli in DBZ movies 8, 10, and 11. No, really.
English Lyrics
Bit by bit, I’m falling under your spell
Your smile’s all I need to see to know we’ll
Leave this endless darkness, saying, “Come along with me!” Hold my hand

Back when you first came into my life,
I recalled a place that I knew as a child: a special place, one that I held close to my heart
Won’t you lead me in a dance down this winding road,
Where light and shadow entwine to take hold of the thoughts of the one left far behind?
Know that sometimes, I want to turn around and see the things that I’ve passed on the journey,
But know with love on my side, with courage and pride, I’ll fight; I will carry on

Bit by bit, I’m falling under your charm
You’ll keep me and all the world far from harm
Bring hope to everyone; take in your hands eternity
Even when it seems that I don’t need you,
Just know that I am in love; can’t wait to
Leave this endless darkness. Won’t you come along with me? Hold my hand
Hey everybody, Julian here. This invisible text doesn’t have anything to do with the song itself, so as long as you’re just casually reading the lyrics on Daizenshuu EX, this doesn’t concern you. However, if you’re reading this on another site, please contact me, at jgjedi@aol.com. I put a lot of hard work into this transcription/translation, and I don’t appreciate those who would try and take my work, claiming it as their own. The internet is a big place, and lyrics like these get traded and re-posted all the time, but lest you be tempted to over-reach, be aware...I’m watching.
